Five Things To Do During the Holidays

1.  Watch 25 Days of Christmas on ABC Family |  Every year I look forward to watching all my favorite Christmas on television.  My all time favorites include The Santa Clause, Eloise at Christmastime and Elf.  Check out this year's full line up of movies here!

2.  Decorate your home | I don't feel like the Christmas season has truly begun until we decorate the house and put up the Christmas tree.  Whether you go to your local tree lot to pick out the perfect tree or decorate an artificial tree, the perfect way to start the season off right is decorating the tree with the family.  I love decorating the Christmas tree every year.  We use an artificial tree, since my dad is allergic to pine, but I love that we don't have worry about it drying up… we can keep it up as long as we want with no mess or painful takedown! Once the inside of your home is festive and ready to go, it's time to light the outside of the house.  Bright lights, wreaths, and poinsettias are essentials for outside Christmas decorating.  I love simple white lights paired with a fun wreath and a few poinsettias, but colored lights can be lot of fun too (especially for kids!).  Follow me on Pinterest and check out some of my favorite holiday decor!

3.  Build a gingerbread house | As a kid I remember building gingerbread houses out of graham crackers.  If your looking for a fun holiday activity for all ages, host a gingerbread house building party or have a decorating competition with your family.  It's fun for the entire family.

4.  Look at Christmas Lights | One of my favorite things to do during the Christmas season is to drive around and look at all the beautiful Christmas lights.  It's so much fun to see all the homes beautifully lit up.  Christmas lights always make homes look so much more welcoming at night.

5.  Enjoy a Christmas Church Service | My church has the most beautiful Christmas Eve candlelight service.  This service is my favorite church service of the year.  Seeing all the candles lighting up the sanctuary and singing Christmas Carols really puts you in the Christmas spirit.
