Local Living: Lakeland Pigfest

I'm starting a new series on here, Local Living!  This series will focus on local events, restaurants, boutiques and as the name suggests, all things local.

The first post is all about Pigfest.

Pigfest is a two-day barbecue competition.  The event is part of the Kansas City Barbecue Society and brings together both professional and amateur barbecuers.  The competition is put on by the Pigfest board with volunteers from the Junior League of Greater Lakeland.  The proceeds from the annual event are split between the Junior League and Girls, Inc .  The mission of Pigfest is to raise money for local charitable organizations and create an event that all people will enjoy.  To date, Pigfest has donated nearly $500,000 to local charities.

Event Details:

Friday January 25 from 6-11 p.m.
Saturday January 26 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: Tiger Town in Lakeland, Florida

If you're in the Central Florida area come out to this fantastic event!

xoxo
