Baby Cambridge

This afternoon the world got it's first glimpse at the newest member of the British Royal Family, Baby Cambridge.  The birth of the future King of England was the most anticipated birth since his father's, the Duke of Cambridge, thirty-one years ago.

Although I had to work, I did get to watch the grand reveal of the newborn Royal with his parents.  The three greeted members of the press and spoke to reporters briefly before heading back inside Saint Mary's Hospital and heading off for their new life as a family of three.

Early in the day Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowls visited their new grandson at Saint Mary's.

It was no surprise to see Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, in attendance for this joyous occasion.  These commoners aren't so common anymore with a future King in their family!

A Look Back at Prince William's Royal Debut

With the #GreatKateWait in full swing, Royal Baby buzz is really kicking into high gear.  The most anticipated birth in my lifetime should happen sometime in the middle of July, reports say.  Bookies are already taking bets on everything from the date the little Prince or Princess will be born to what his or her first words will be.  Can you imagine the pressure Kate must be feeling knowing the whole world is waiting in anticipation of her first born child?

In honor of Prince William's 31st Birthday today, I thought I would take a look back at his birth and debut to the world.

Prince William was the first Royal to be born in a hospital, his son or daughter will be born in the same hospital, Saint Mary's.  Kate and William will introduce their baby to the world in a similar fashion as his parents, but we do not know if the name of the child will be announced that day or at a later date (which is typical for the Royal Family).

What do you think Duchess Catherine and Prince William will wear to introduce their first born to the world?  Will you be watching?

Royal Fashion Update :: Opening Ceremonies

Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge looked wonderful in a variety of patriotic outfits during this years summer Olympics in London, England.  Whether it was dressing up for the opening ceremonies or dressing down for a sporting event.

Royal Fashion Update :: Pre-Olympics Event

Prince Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had a busy few weeks leading up to and during the London Olympics.  The Royal Family kicked off the Olympics with a sports day at Bacon's College, a secondary school in East London the day before the opening ceremonies.

Prince William turns 30.

WOW!  Can you believe Prince William turns 30-years-old today?  If only his mother could see him now.  I know she would be so proud of the man he has become and the way he has helped Kate adjust to the royal lifestyle.

The Duchess of Cambridge is reportedly planning a low-key private dinner with friends, unlike the crazy celebration Prince William had for his 21st birthday, which was African-themed.  It's clear the royal couple have different priorities at this stage in their life.  Prince William will also inherit his half of his mother's nearly $31 million estate.  I'd say that's a great way to celebrate turning another decade?  Wouldn't you?

Here's a look back on a few pictures of the prince over the past 30 years.

Happy Birthday, Prince William!

Kate wears white for Garter Day.

Once again Kate Middleton and the entire Royal Family looked fabulous for Garter Day 2012.  She joined her stepmother-in-law Camilla and Prince Edward's wife Sophie to watch the ceremony in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

HRH Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a Reiss dress and an Alexander McQueen cotton and wool-blend pique coat.

She paired the dress and coat with a L.K. Bennett Natalie Natural box clutch and Sledge Pumps.

Doesn't Her Majesty look adorable with Prince Phillip?

I love Kate's hair in this photo! Adorable!

royal blue.

Yesterday Princess Catherine and other members of the Royal Family attended a children's sporting event at Vernon Park in Nottingham.  The visit to Nottingham was part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee tour.  Over 30,000 people greeted the Royal Family during their visit.

The Duchess wore a powder blue tweed coat dress by M Missoni {which she wore to Fortnum & Mason in March}.  However, just to keep things a little fresh, Catherine opted for different accessories. This time around, the dress was teamed with a Rachel Trevor-Morgan navy cocktail hat and L.K. Bennett 'Art' Court Shoes in navy.  The Duchess carried the Jaegar 'Kate' Bag {I love this bag!}.

I love that the Queen and Kate seem to get along so well.  Kate has truly been accepted into the Royal Family.

I love that Kate always looks so conservative and professional everywhere she goes.  She is such a great fashion icon!  I wish I could pull of her hats.

Kate looks great in grey.

Over the weekend Prince William and Prince Harry's cousin (on Diana's side), Lady Emily McCorquodale, wed James Hunt.  Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, was also in attendance.  The wedding took place in a beautiful church in Lincolnshire.

Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a few old favorites from her wardrobe.  I love when she recycles her wardrobe... after all, almost everything she wears is fabulous!

You may recognize her bronze pill box hat from last years Epsom Derby.

She re-wore one of my favorite (Kate) dresses, that she wore last year when she visited North America.  It is a Jenny Packham grey floral silk dress.  Kate paired the dress with the grey Katherine Hooker coat dress that she wore to last year’s Order of the Garter ceremony.  Kate's ensemble was completed by a pair of nude L.K. Bennett pumps and Hobbs Somerton Clutch.

I love Kate's pairing of her old pieces to make an entirely new look.

royal carriage ride.

Diamond Jubilee Carriage Ride

The Royal Family has had a very busy few days.  After partying the night away at a concert fit for the Queen, the Royal Family spent Tuesday morning at a church service followed by lunch and a carriage ride to Buckingham Palace.

Princess Catherine chose to wear an Alexander McQueen dress for the Diamond Jubilee church service and luncheon.  She paired the dress with a Jane Taylor beaded cocktail hat.

I wish I could pull off the glamorous hats that Princess Catherine wears.

Prince Harry and Prince William did not wear military uniforms since this was a civil church service.  Don't they look great in their top hats?

rock & royalty.

 Concert for the Queen

Monday night the Royal Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II was celebrated with a star-studded concert.  Performers spanned from Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber to Will.i.am.  I was a little surprised at the selection of performers, I know some of the outfits must have caused the Queen to raise an eyebrow... I'm sure some of them were a bit racy!  But, I know the royal family is trying to keep up with the times, so I'm sure they wanted to choose some "hip" new musicians.

The entire royal family was in attendance, except for Prince Phillip who, unfortunately, was in hospital with a bladder infection.  Prince Philip was greatly missed by his wife, HRH Queen Elizabeth II, and his children and grandchildren.  His son, Prince Charles mentioned this father's absence and the crowded attended to cheer loud enough for Prince Philip to hear them in hospital.

Princess Catherine, Prince William & Prince Harry enjoyed the Diamond Jubilee concert on Monday night in London, England.

I love seeing the younger royals having such a fun time at the concert.

Princess Catherine's hair looks wonderful (as usual!) and I love her choice of a blue dress.

Prince William & Prince Harry look like they had a blast at the concert honoring their grandmother.

Here is a better view of Princess Catherine's blue dress at the concert
