Today is my 24th birthday. Honestly, it doesn't feel any different than any other day. But, it is fun to get presents and eat yummy sweets! In honor of my birthday I thought I would share a few things I love from my childhood.
1. Full House is still one of my favorite TV shows!
4. I attended two *NSYNC concerts and listened to the No Strings Attached Album a million times... Are you as excited as I am that the band now has a Twitter account?
5. Lizzie McGuire was one of my favorite shows and I must admit I still love the movie!
6. Have you been following all the excitement behind the new Boy Meets World sequel, Girl Meets World? I cannot wait (even though it is going to be on Disney Channel).
7. BOP and Tiger Beat have a website and social media??? I used to take pictures out of these magazines and decorate my room!
8. Furby is back and now connects to your smart phone? That's way cooler than my 1998 Furby!
9. I still love my closet full of American Girl dolls, beds and accessories! Did you have an American Girl doll?
10. I only shopped at Limited Too... now known as Justice.
Are you a 90's kid? What is your favorite 90's pop culture moment?
Kate Middleton is one of my all time favorite style icons. Her style is so classy and she always looks fabulous! If only I could have her hand-me-downs
Today I turn 23-years-old. So much has changed in my 23 years on this earth. I was born in the last year of the 1980's, so I was only around for a grand total of 3-months of the 80's. I am a 90's child!
The 1990s, in my opinion was a great decade. Technology was just beginning to grow. Cell phones and the Internet were new. Newspapers were still the main news source. Reality TV had not yet taken over every channel... Those were the days!
WOW! Can you believe Prince William turns 30-years-old today? If only his mother could see him now. I know she would be so proud of the man he has become and the way he has helped Kate adjust to the royal lifestyle.
The Duchess of Cambridge is reportedly planning a low-key private dinner with friends, unlike the crazy celebration Prince William had for his 21st birthday, which was African-themed. It's clear the royal couple have different priorities at this stage in their life. Prince William will also inherit his half of his mother's nearly $31 million estate. I'd say that's a great way to celebrate turning another decade? Wouldn't you?
Here's a look back on a few pictures of the prince over the past 30 years.
I love my mom (well, who doesn't). When I'm not locked away in the library, I talked to my mom at least three times a day. I call her on my way to class, when I'm driving and when I'm just bored. She is always there for me, what good mom isn't?! I am blessed to have supportive and loving parents, even though they drive me crazy sometimes (whose don't...).
Today is her birthday. I am home for the weekend and we are going to dinner at Texas Cattle Company tonight. It should be a lot of fun. I'm so glad I've been able to come home for her birthday since I've been in college.
Mom and me three years ago at a Valentine's Day party at our house.
In elementary and middle school I had a bit of an unhealthy obsession with *NSYNC. Once I even listened to their music for almost four hours straight on a flight to California. I know, crazy!
In 4th Grade *NSYNC was my first concert. My mom and my two best friends mom's planned the trip and surprised us the afternoon of the concert. We had no idea! They picked us up early from school and when we got to the car their was a huge *NSYNC poster and a sign that read NSYNC here we come! It was so fun.
My favorite boy band obsession is sadly no longer preforming together (maybe one day). But, lucky for all of us crazy fans, Justin Timberlake and the rest of the guys are still around. Today is Justin's birthday so that is where this trip down memory lane is coming from.
Today is the fabulous Lilly Pulitzer's 80th birthday. Without Lilly's marvelous clothes my closet would be much less colorful and much more solid. Lilly clothes allow me to mix-up my typically solid wardrobe with a bright fun pattern. I am in love with Lilly!
Today is one of bestest friends 22nd birthday. She is studying abroad in Prague, but we Skyped yesterday. It was glorious!
Hillary and I share a love for musical theater and for singing along to every song (not well I might add). Hillary and I carpooled to school every year since 5th grade, until we both got our licenses, and even then we road together most of the time. Some morning we would stop and get yummy bagels at the best bagel place ever, which is sadly closed now :(.
In high school we were in every play and musical (despite our lack of musical ability). It was so fun! I think my favorite has to be Anything Goes, which we did in 11th grade, because everyone was cast perfectly...although I was a Chinese man, so I'm not really sure what that says about me. haha! It was so much fun!
Notice the Christmas lights in the background, we love driving around looking at lights!
We're fabulous!
Found this gem on my phone.
If our lives were a Broadway musical, this would have to be the one.
Last night I went to Carrabba's Italian Grill for my birthday dinner. It was a tone of fun! I was so happy that so many of my friends were able to join me.
I mentioned a while ago that my cousin was pregnant... well she gave birth last week to a baby boy named Peter Smith Hollis II. I cannot wait to meet him. He is so cute! I Skyped with him last week so I kinda met him. But, I cannot wait to hold him and see him in person. Everything went well and we are all so glad that Niki and Smith are home and healthy. Now it's time for all of us to spoil him with presents all the time! Baby clothes and toys are so cute... it's hard to resist buying everything.
