Cozy Christmas

It is almost Christmas, which means it is time to start outfit planning.  If your family is like mine, then you are probably going to have a fun Christmas at home, so a cozy lazy-day outfit perfect!  Every year my family and I open presents, eat breakfast and then watch movies (or sometimes go to the movies) the rest of the day.  It's nice to have a carefree, relaxing day off from work, school or simply the rest of everyday life and the stress that can come with it.

Head over to long distance loving for this week's Friday's Fancies link-up!

What is your idea of a cozy Christmas outfit?  Are you ready for Christmas?

Mad About Plaid

Fireside VestScarf | SkirtFlannel Shirt | Socks | Flats

During the fall and winter I absolutely love wearing plaid.  Whether it's a plaid flannel shirt, socks or flats plaid is one of my favorite patterns during the colder months.  Plus it's just so festive during the holidays, don't you think?

Head over to Long Distance Loving to see what everyone put together for Friday's Fancies this week!

How do you wear plaid in the fall and winter?

Travel Chic

The only place I've traveled lately is to football games in Gainesville.  So I haven't really had to worry about packing a carry on bag or a suitcase since when I travel by car I can hang up some of my clothes in the backseat.  But, when I pack for an airplane trip, I always try to only bring the essentials... however, most of the time I over pack!  But, when it comes to dressing for the trip I always make sure I wear shoes that are easy to take off during security and clothes that are comfortable and warm for the airplane.  Pixie pants or leggings are the easiest to wear through security since they don't have any pockets.  Bringing a small blanket or scarf to use incase the plane is cold is also a must!  I am always cold when traveling (even in the summer).

What rules do you always follow when planning travel outfits and packing?

Fall Color Crush

I know, I know, navy is not exactly a new trend.  Navy is pretty much always a popular color, but lately I have been really loving it.  Like really.  Whether it's work or Saturday at the Farmers Market, I think navy is always appropriate.  Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall navy is always my color crush.

Head on over to long distance loving for this week's Friday's Fancies link-up!

What colors are you crushing on this season?

I actually kinda love getting dressed up in work attire.  Coming up with alternatives to the typical black or navy suit.  The traditional business attire isn't necessarily the norm in most offices anymore, so you have a lot more freedom to show your personal style in the office.  Today I am linking-up with long distance loving for another fun week of Friday's Fancies showing off our favorite office looks.

How do you add a bit of your own personal style, yet stay professional for work?

Labor Day has come and gone, Starbucks has brought back the Pumpkin Spice Latte and school is in full swing (which also means school traffic is in full swing!).  Although summer is not officially over until later this month and the weather is still very warm, it's time to start transitioning out of summer sundresses and white and into fall colors and sweaters.  I am ready to get in the spirit of fall, so light layers are key.  Navy, khaki and dark green chino shorts paired with a lightweight button down shirt or sweater is an easy go-to pre-fall outfit.  While J.Crew Pixie pants are great for cool casual days and sleeveless dresses are easy to pair with a cardigan or blazer as fall nears.

3 Labor Day Outfits

Can you believe it's already Labor Day weekend?  The summer sure flew by!  Time to start phasing out all your sundresses, white and bright summer clothes and slowly transitioning to fall.  Now when I say slowly... down here in sunny Florida that transition is painfully slow.  We never know when fall will peak out from behind the bright sun and let us wear light jackets and boots without sweltering.  But, I still personally like to start phasing out my summer wardrobe even though the temps are still quite summery!

Today I am linking-up with long distance loving to bring you three looks for this weekend (Labor Day).  Whether you're having a low-key weekend at home, heading off for one last beach weekend, or hitting the sales, it's time to pull out your favorite summer items for one last shebang!

This weekend take advantage of your last few days of white shorts, jeans and shoes and of course those Labor Day sales!

Don't forget to head on over and check out this weeks Friday's Fancies link-up!

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

3 Outfits for College

Library

It may be 90+ degrees outside now, but the library is always 20 below!  Be prepared for those long study sessions with a cute fleece sweatshirt (I am a big fan of this one & this one too!).  Jeans are also the perfect go-to pant for the library.  Easy, comfortable, and classic is what I go for when putting together the perfect library look.  And don't forget to bring those preppy school supplies and classic agendas to keep you organized!

Class

A classic skirt and cute blouse is the perfect outfit for going to class... no pajamas are not acceptable attire for anything other than staying home!  Remember, you always want to make a good impression on your professors and peers and showing up day after day in sweats make it appear that you don't care.  A comfortable pair of flats or sandals are key.  After all, you don't want to be uncomfortable walking around campus all day.  In Florida I have gotten pretty used to the temps outside being much warmer than the temps inside (read: air conditioning on full blast = freezing), so throwing a lightweight scarf or cardigan in your bag is always a good idea.

Presentation

J.Crew Scalloped Dress | J.Crew Sidney Jacket | Loren Hope Corrin Bracelet | AV Max Bow Cuff
J.Crew Pearl NecklaceIvanka Trump 'Indico' Pump | Longchamp 'Le Pliage' Large Tote

It's always a good idea to be prepared with a go-to professional outfit.  Whether it's for an interview or class presentation, a simple professional outfit always comes in handy.  I am in love with this scalloped dress from J.Crew, it is perfect for summer and fall and can be dressed up or down depending on the level of dress for the occasion.  I low heel, like this pair by Ivanka Trump, is the perfect shoe to add a little height without going overboard and being uncomfortable

Casual Friday

Running Errands...

Follow me via Instagram!

I love putting together cute work appropriate outfits, but I also love a good casual day!  A day where I don't have to wear heels or formal work attire.  A day when I can just be comfortable.  It has been a while since I did an outfit of the day post on Instagram.  In college I was much better about posting pictures of my daily outfits on social media.  But with the hustle and bustle of working life, it's hard to find a good time and place to photograph my #OOTD pics.  This week's Friday's Fancies link-up with long distance loving is all about how to look cute while running errands (head on over to av's blog to see what other fab bloggers have put together!).  On the weekends I tend to wear jeans, capris or shorts paired with my favorite pair of white Keds or Jack Rogers sandals.  Occasionally I will wear gym clothes all day, but most days I feel much more productive if I am dressed in actually clothes (even on the weekend).

Today I am linking up with Long Distance Loving for another week of Friday's Fancies.  This week is all about your favorite summer treat.  Recently I have been on a big sangria kick.  It's so yummy!  Don't you think?  I found this fabulous recipe from the Food Network, so you should try it out this weekend! A Short Story

Tiki Short // Scalloped Short

Indigo Dot Short // Summer Plaid Short

Denim Roll-Up Short // 3'' Chino

Can you believe it's already August?  School is right around the corner and before we know it it'll be Labor Day Weekend!  Although Florida will not have fall weather for a really long time... I mean, we'll be lucky to have it in October or November, I am starting to long for fall clothes.  Stores have started debuting their pre-fall collections and I am dying to wear my knee-high boots again.  Don't get me wrong, I love summer.  Swimsuits, shorts, sundresses... what's not to love?  But, I do love a little change in weather and wardrobe every now and then!

This week I am linking back up with Long Distance Loving for Friday's Fancies.  It's been quite a while since I last joined in on this fun link-up!  I'm happy to be back participating.

Friday's Fancies : Lovely Layers

Many of my friends are currently in the midst of a soon-to-be giant snow storm in the Northeast.  So av is on-spot with this weeks Friday's Fancies theme... lovely layers!  We haven't had much of a winter this year in Florida, so I haven't had many opportunities to wear layers.  This week, I decided to do my post on light layers featuring pink jeans in honor of Valentine's Day.

I will be thinking about my friends up in New York this weekend.  And I'm so thankful to be in sunny, warm Florida!

Friday's Fancies : New Year's Eve

I'm back with another fun link-up with AV from long distance loving!  This week is all about what to wear for New Years Eve.  Typically, I am not much of a NYE person... I don't usually go out to crazy parties or stay out all night.  Sometimes I go to a fun dinner with friends, but I'm usually home by 10:30 or 11:00.  I know, I know... BORING!  But, that's just fine with me.

Well... if I was going to a fun party, this is probably what I would wear.
