Winter Essentials

We have only had a few brief moments of winter so far this year, but I am crossing my fingers that we'll have at least a few more weeks before the season's over.  I love all the comfy and cute styles of winter.  Winter clothes have to be the most comfortable of all, don't you think?  Scarves, boots, tights and sweaters are my favorite!  Since I work in a very cold office, I have been sporting my light sweaters, jackets and scarves, but I'm ready for a few cold days.  I am tired of 80+ degrees in December! What's up with that?

In honor of the official start of winter a couple weeks ago, I am putting together a few items I consider essentials for every fashionistas wardrobe.

Winter Gloves

It is finally starting to get cool hear in Florida.  Not quite glove and hat weather, but it's totally fall!  All you Northerns are probably laughing right now, but 65 degrees and below is a HUGE treat for us Florida girls... I will take any chance I get to pull out my favorite hats, scarves and boots.  With Thanksgiving right around the corner, all the stores have pulled out their winter attire in full force!  While I rarely get the opportunity to wear gloves, I do think they are absolutely adorable!

Festive Flats

I have had a busy few weeks with the end of the semester right around the corner.  But, all of the fun sequin, glitter and bright clothes and accessories just make me want to go to holiday parties already!

The red cups are back!!!!! 

I've mentioned it before, but I am so excited that the red cups are back at Starbucks.  This means the return of peppermint drinks.  I still feel like it's a little early to dive into Christmas (I do love Thanksgiving and think it's an under-appreciated holiday), but drinking peppermint hot-cocoa or peppermint mocha coffee in a fun winter cup is the perfect thing to help you ease into the upcoming holiday season.

1.  J.Crew Quilted Vest | I am loving puffy quilted vest right now.  They are so cozy and fun and since we have a very mild winter in Florida, vests are the perfect way to wear winter clothes without overly bundling up.  

2. Madewell Pintuck Blouse | This red silk long-sleeve blouse from Madewell is the perfect shirt for the holiday season.  Add some fun jewelry, like a statement necklace, and this is the perfect shirt for a holiday party.  

3.  J.Crew Union Suit | I died when I saw these one-piece PJs from J.Crew.  How much fun would it be to wake up on Christmas morning in these bright, striped pajamas?

4. Vickers Bow Camp Three Point from KJP | If you can't tell, I am a little obsessed with the new Kiel James Patrick Vickers Bow Collection.  They are so fabulous, I can't get over it.  The Camp Three Point in red plaid is one of my favorites.  It is the perfect bracelet to wear during the holiday season or give as a gift.

Five Things I'm Loving for Winter

Recently we have been having great weather, not too hot and not too cold.  Luckily, it has been cold enough to wear sweaters and boots, but not so cold that you need gloves and hats.  All of this wonderful weather and fun winter fashions has made me long to put together another top 5 list.

With snow in parts of the country, I decided to highlight some fun earmuffs to keep your ears cozy and warm during those snowy days.  Kate Spade always has fun and colorful winter accessories and this year they have some fabulous earmuff options.  J.Crew and Ralph Lauren also have some fun options.

Winter clothes are so much fun!  I love layering clothes and mixing and matching fun sweaters and jackets during the colder days of the year.  J.Crew (and the Factory store) has quite a selection of styles and colors.  My typical go-to jacket during the winter is a simple navy peacoat, but I also have a red coat from the J.Crew Factory store and a navy blazer for days that aren't quite as cold.
