Graduation is right around the corner.  Can you believe it's that time again?  I cannot!  If you are looking for the perfect gift for your favorite grad, check out Decor 2 Ur Door.  Decor 2 Ur Door has the most adorable bedroom or dorm room decor… and it's affordable too!  What could be better than that!

Decor 2 Ur Door's bedding comes in a variety of colors and patterns (and they have a collegiate collection as well!), making them the perfect destination for any soon-to-be freshman trying to decorate their new digs.

Neutrals are always a classic decorating choice, particularly when it comes to choosing the focal points of a room.  I love to decorate with neutrals that can be easily mixed and matched with any accessories I choose.  When browsing the Decor 2 Ur Door website, I absolutely loved the way they decorated this bedroom in with gray and white.  Simple and classic.  Plus, it goes with just about any accessory you want, which is essential for college students who tend to want to accessorize with everything from their school mascot to their sorority colors!

Check out their blog for some adorable room decor inspirations!

6 Graduation Gift Guides

It has been a year and a half since I graduated college and six years since I graduated high school.  It is amazing how quickly time flies.  Searching for the perfect graduation gift can be tricky.  For high school graduation I got tons and tons of gift cards, jewelry and a bunch of UF or orange and blue things.  It's always safe to buy a soon-to-be college freshmen anything in their college's colors.  Anything to decorate their dorm room or apartment is a safe bet also.  My favorite high school graduation gift was a mini tool set.  I used it all throughout college.  Boy did it come in handy!

Check out these 6 graduation gift guides: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Graduation Pictures {1}

Those of you who are longtime readers of Southern Royalty know that I graduated from college a few weeks ago.  A couple of days before graduation my family came up to Gainesville so we could take graduation pictures around campus.  However the day we had planned to take pictures, the weather was horrible.  It was freezing and the sky was grey.  This was certainly not optimal photo shoot weather.  We decided to delay the pictures a day, but we did walk around campus for a little while taking a few casual pictures.

Here are a few of the fun pictures we took that day.

Happy December!

Happy December!

I cannot believe in a few short days I will be finished with my undergraduate college career.  It feels like just a few months ago I came to the University of Florida and started my first semester.  I remember walking the campus with my parents to find each of my classes the week before school started.  I was so worried that I would get lost and be late to my first day of school.  It was only a matter of weeks before I had my routine down pat and campus started to feel like home.  It's strange to think I won't be walking Museum Road or heading to Weimer Hall for classes anymore.

The next few days will be spent on-campus studying and preparing for my senior project.

How are you spending the first few days of December?

more graduation dresses

Since my roommate and many of my friends will be graduating in about three weeks, I have had graduation on the mind a lot lately.  Graduation is very bittersweet this year.  Since I am not graduating until December I am going to be sad to see so many of my friends pack-up and leave Gainesville without me.  I know most of them are ready for the next phase of their lives, but I will be sad without them next semester.

I posted a few weeks ago about a few black and white graduation dresses, but since we can wear pretty much whatever we want for college graduation... I though I'd post some more options, this time in color.  Black and white dresses are so classic, but color is a lot more fun and personally, I think I will wear a colorful dress more often than a black or white one.

J.Crew has a wide selection of solid dresses in every color imaginable.  They are a great source for classic dresses that you will get a lot of wear out of.  I really love this blue circle eyelet dress... it is perfect since one of my school colors is blue.  Plus, it's so classic and beautiful that I know I would want to wear it all the time!  I also love the blue Teddie dress... it would be so perfect for me since I am graduating in December and it might (read: wishful thinking) be cool on graduation day.

Anthropologie is also a great source for graduation dresses.  They are a little more fun and bright than most of the ones from J.Crew, but it just depends what kind of look you're going for.  I know I would get so much wear of any of these Anthropologie dresses.  If you choose to go with a solid color dress, like the ones above, you can always pair it with a statement necklace... Swell Caroline has some great jewelry options.

Nordstrom, Saks, Bloomingdales and Lilly Pulitzer are also great sources for graduation dresses.

Are you graduating this semester?  Where have you found your grad dress?

Graduation Gifts.

I cannot believe so many of my friends are graduating in less than a month.  It's so insane!  I feel like I'm still seventeen sometimes.  When did we get so old?  Old enough to have lives and jobs and get married... EEEK!  It's not possible!  I am so glad that I have an extra semester before the "real" world.

It has been four years since I was getting high school graduation presents and I cannot believe how quickly time has flown by.  It seems like yesterday.

Here are a few ideas for high school graduation presents.

1. Umbrella
It seems silly, but an umbrella is an essential for every college student.  At most universities students have to walk a pretty good distance so it is very important to have a good umbrella.  It's also nice to have a cute one.  Old Navy, Lilly Pulitzer, Vera Bradley and Urban Outfitters all have great (and adorable) umbrellas.

2. Vineyard Vines College Tote
It's always great to get college themed gifts for high school graduation.  Graduates are very excited about the next phase of their lives and get very excited about anything in their college colors or with their university logo or mascot on it.  I got a lot of orange and blue and Gator themed gifts for high school graduation and I still use them all today.

3. Kate Spade Spreading Good Cheer Letterpress Cards
Note cards are always a great gift for just about any occasion.  People always need to write thank you notes or letters to friends.  Note cards always come in handy and a new graduate can never have enough note cards.

4. Lacoste Monogrammed towels
Monogrammed towels are a great gift.  I got some for graduation and I still love them.  They are adorable and add a touch of style to what is typically a boring item.  They are also great for anyone who will be sharing a bathroom, so they won't get their towels mixed up with another persons.

What is the best gift you got for high school graduation?

graduation dresses

I cannot believe I am a senior in college.  Some days it feels like just yesterday that I was graduating from high school.  Luckily, I still have one more semester until college graduation, but some many of my friends are graduating in May.

In High School all the girls were required to wear plain white dress, but for UF graduation the gowns are black so you can wear pretty much any kind of dress as long as you have dark shoes with it (or at least ones that look good with the black gowns).

Here are a few ideas for both white and dark dresses.
