Orange & Blue

College football kicked off this Saturday.  College football and basketball are two of my all time favorite past times.  When fall roles around, not only does cooler weather arrive, but so does a lot of fun!  In honor of my favorite time of year, I sported my favorite colors of fall, orange and blue, at work on Friday.  It really helped me get pumped for the big weekend.  Sadly, when Saturday rolled around, the opening UF home game was rained out.  Thousands of Gator fans waited for about three hours in hopes of seeing the Gator's play.  But, no such luck... all my loyal Gators will simply have to wait a few more days for some GATOR FOOTBALL! I guess I'll have to wear orange and blue again this Friday.

Orange: textured-stripe short // ballet flats // v-neck sweater // cami
Blue: pumps // bracelet // tank // dress // corduroy pants

Do you sport your team colors and support your school's team?

Football Season is Back!

Over Labor Day weekend I heading north to Gainesville for my first football game since graduating college.  It's weird to think I won't be sitting in the student section anymore or standing in line on Friday's to pick up my weekly Beat T-shirt from the student alumni association.  The first game of the year was against Toldeo and since it wasn't a big game for the Gators it started at 12:20... talk about the worst time for a football game in Florida... boy was it hot!  But we're used to that down here, the first few games of the season are almost always at noon.  I drove up with my friend Brittany Friday night and headed back home Saturday afternoon.  It was a quick trip, but it was worth it to see my Gators play in the Swamp again!  I cannot wait until the next home game so I can have a little longer visit (and maybe visit the new Lilly Pulitzer store that just opened in Gainesville!).

What I wore: Lilly Pulitzer Dress (old, similar), Jack Rogers Sandals, Monogrammed Necklace,
C. Wonder Earrings (mentioned here), Ralph Lauren Sunglasses

Did you watch football this Labor Day weekend?

Florida v. LSU Gameday Looks

This afternoon is the Florida v. LSU football game.  LSU is one of Florida's biggest rivals and both teams tend to be tough competition for one another every year.  This is going to be rough game for the Gators, but it will still be tones of fun!

Florida: Kate Spade watch | Shop Ruche dress | Kate Spade crossbody bag

LSU: J.Crew wool crepe v-neck dress | Kate Spade watch | Anthropologie necklace

Gameday!!!!

It's college football season again! I am so excited!!!! EEEK! Two of my best friends are staying with me this weekend (we're having a slumber party!!!).  We will be tailgating, going to the Gator Walk and then cheering on our boys to their first victory of the year (BEAT Bowling Green!).  I am very confident that we will have a much better season than we did last year and I am very excited to who ends up as the new QB... the anticipation and excitement has been building for weeks.

Looking for Gameday outfit inspiration? Check out this post!

Lilly Goes Gator!

I am so excited about all the fun Lilly Pulitzer items coming out this season featuring alligators.  They have done a few things in the past with gators, but this year they have topped themselves.  I cannot wait to get my new 'See You Later' planner and hopefully a few other items (crossing my fingers!).

Do you like the new Lilly accessories?

It's Great to be a Florida Gator!

Way to go women's tennis!

There are so many reasons why I love my university... WINNING national championships is only one of them!

see you later...

Alligator!

OH MY GOSH! I am so happy that Lilly Pulitzer is doing another Gator print.  How exciting is this? I am over joyed.

I need this planner.  Even though my current Lilly planner will not run out until December, I think I will have to get a new one when this one comes out at the end of the summer.

This will be the second "gator" print in recent years.  Can you tell I'm looking forward to it?

I have a skort and tumblers made out of the last Lilly "gator" print and I use them all the time.  They are so adorable and preppy.

I recently ran across this adorable "gator" clipboard on Etsy.  It would be such a cute gift for a future Gator undergrad.

What's your favorite Lilly print?

orange and blue.

It's March Madness, which is one of my favorite times of year!  The Gators are doing great in the NCAA Tournament this year and have made it all the way to the Elite Eight.  I am so excited for the game this afternoon against Louisville.  If I was at the game, I would love to be wearing an adorable outfit like this one...

or this one...

Go Gators! Beat Louisville!

spring break essentials.

I am so excited for Spring Break!  I have one exam (online, luckily!) and then it's an entire week of no homework!  I will be home for a few days and then heading to the Gator basketball game versus Kentucky and then off to Sarasota for a few days.  I cannot wait for some Gator sports and Lilly shopping!

Sundresses are a must! If you're going to be somewhere warm for spring break then a sundress is essential to your packing list.  I love pretty much anything from Lilly Pulitzer, J.Crew or Anthropologie.  I love the Lilly Pulitzer Jeanie dress, it's perfect for a day of shopping, the beach or lunch with friends.

I recommend pairing a fun cotton sundress with Jack Rogers sandals or flats.  Then carry a bright colored Longchamp or a straw bag with it.  Straw bags transition perfectly from the mall to the beach.  And of course don't forget to pack your favorite swimsuits if you're heading to a warm climate.

What items are on your packing list for spring break?

weekend overview.

I had the greatest weekend.

I started by going to the gymnastics meet.  It was so fun! The Gators did a fabulous job.

Then my parents came up and brought my doggie for a sleepover at my apartment.

We went to lunch at Blue Gill...yummy!

After lunch went to the basketball game and the Gators won!

After the game we went to dinner at Dragonfly and boy was it delicious.  Then Mom and I (along with some other people that we went to dinner with) went to the piano bar.  It was pretty funny.  The piano bar is a lot of fun, but a little raunchy (which I could do without).

UF vs. LSU

Last years LSU game in Gainesville.

Lunch at Ballyhoo, next to the Tim Tebow statue carved out of a tree.

 Tailgating before the game.
Saw this LSU fan with tacky pants on!
View of the game from the Champions Club.

Mom and I watching the game from the Champions Club.

Today is the UF vs. LSU game in Baton Rouge, LA.  I hope it goes well for the Gators, but it's always hard to play on another teams turf.

two weeks.

In two weeks I'll be in Baton Rouge, LA for the UF v. LSU game.  I am so excited! I have never been to an away game, well a normal one...I have been to the SEC Championship in Atlanta, GA and the National Championship in Miami, FL.  But, this will be a totally different experience.  At a championship game for the most part the schools get the same number of tickets.  Some sponsors and other people get tickets, but in general the two school have equal opportunity for fans to attend.  During this game Florida will be out number by A LOT!  This will give me a chance to observe the culture and traditions of another SEC university.  I am so excited!
Not only am I super excited for the game, but I also get to meet my new cousin Smith.  I cannot wait to finally meet him.  He was born on August 3 in Houston, TX to my cousin Pete and his wife Niki.  I kinda met him on Skype, but I am very anxious to finally see the little bugger in person and hold him.  He is so cute!

Me with MC and Niki in 2007 at Niki's bridesmaids brunch.
I'm excited I get to see them both soon.

10 Commandments of College Football.

I love Southern Living!  They have come up with the 10 commandments college football and I have to say that I agree.  Great job SL!

Here they are...

1. Thou shalt wear team colors. But think twice before adorning yourself with body paint—you don’t want to be the Internet photo that goes viral.

2. Thou shalt know—and sing—your team’s fight song from beginning to end. Sure, you can “watermelon watermelon” your way through the alma mater, but not memorizing the fight song is a fan failure. (I also think you should know the alma mater...especially if it is your alma mater)

3. Thou shalt keep your language clean (unless, of course, the quarterback fumbles on fourth and goal).

4. Thou shalt support the coach. Even when his calls are questionable. (I completely agree! I also don't think that fans sound put down the players...after all they are just college students who happen to be extremely talented, give them a break!)

5. Thou shalt be respectful to visiting teams. Remember: Southern ladies and gentlemen never boo.

6. Thou shalt set up a tailgate no fewer than three hours before kickoff (six if it’s a night game). Table linens and matching huggers encouraged, but not required.

7. Thou shalt theme your tailgate food around the visiting rival. Gator bites, anyone?

8. Thou shalt stay through the fourth quarter—rain or shine. That’s what ponchos are for, y’all.

9. Thou shalt respect the solemnity of Game Day by planning weddings, births, and other life events around the football schedule. (this one my family defiantly follows)

10. Thou shalt not covet other teams’ bowl games, national championships, or Heisman Trophy wins. There’s always next year.

the most wonderful time of the year.

Football Season!

This is the third week of college football and the season is truly starting today.  I am so excited UF plays UT today in the SEC conference opener.  It is a huge game for the gators! It will be a fun day in the swamp.

dress for the game.

The other day, my friend sent me an e-mail about a clothing line that one of his law school classmates has started, called Dress for the Game.  I checked it out and it is so cute!!! I definitely recommend checking out their website.

Bama

Auburn

Gators

Vandy

All the Dress for the Game dresses are so adorable!  Plus, they have dresses for all the schools in the SEC.

Tomorrow is gameday in the Swamp.  It is a huge game for us tomorrow, we are playing Tennessee. EEP!  It is our conference opener and the first really difficult game for our team this year.  I am praying that we can pull out a win!

What's your favorite Dress for the Game dress?
