10 No Carve Pumpkin Decorating Ideas

It's just about two weeks until Halloween.  Have you decorated your home for fall yet?  Fall is one of my favorite times of the year and October is my favorite month.  Not only does my birthday fall in October, but the weather slowly begins to change in Florida.  It doesn't get much better than a cool October morning.  Pumpkin flavored everything is in full swing and who doesn't love that?  Cinnamon, apple and pumpkin are three of my favorite flavors of fall! Yum!  I also just love decorating pumpkins, don't you?  It's so fun to see all the creative ideas on Pinterest and other blogs.

Here are 10 of my favorite no carve pumpkin decorating ideas.

Have you found any cute pumpkin decorating ideas?

Bookends

I love a stylish bookshelf.  Bookshelves are a great way to express who you are.  You can showcase all your favorite books, souvenirs, awards and style through your bookshelf.  Maybe you love dogs and want to decorate your bookcase with dog figurines.  Perhaps you have traveled all around the world and picked up a few momentous along the way and want to showcase those.  No matter your personal style you can always find a unique and fun way to style a bookshelf and showcase you.

A great way to add some fun to a bookshelf is with a fun set of bookends.  Good bookends can be hard to find, so it's smart to always be on the lookout for a fun set of bookends.

I also love this set of bookends from Z Gallerie! #GoGators

Do you have a favorite set of bookends or favorite place to shop for home decor?

Halloween Decorations

Truthfully I'm not really into Halloween.  I hate being scared and Halloween is all about the all things that go bump in the night.  But, I do love fall and decorating for the season.  Whether it's decorating the front porch with pumpkins or drinking out of a owl mug, simple fall decorations make the season so much fun.  But don't go over board, people can get pretty tacky with Halloween garb all over their house and you don't want to be that neighbor do you?

Thanksgiving Tablescapes

I love decorating for Thanksgiving, it is one of my favorite holidays.  I love all the orange, yellow and brown... fall colors and decorations are the best!  Sadly, Thanksgiving is overlooked by many who jump from Halloween to Christmas.  But, not Martha Stewart!  Her site is full of great Thanksgiving tips.  Pinterest also has some fabulous decorating ideas (as always).

Decorating for Thanksgiving

Pottery Barn has some of the greatest decorations.  Target has already started putting out Christmas decor, but need I remind you... we have to celebrate Thanksgiving first!

I love Christmas decorations as much as the next person, but Thanksgiving is just a fun!  All the beautiful fall colors and cute turkeys, why wouldn't you want to decorate your home with all that?

Are you ready for Thanksgiving?

Halloween Decorations

It's almost Halloween, so now is the time to break out those pumpkins and start carving!  I love decorating with pumpkins, witches and ghosts, but I have a hard time finding cute Halloween decorations that don't look too childish.  This is where the always reliable Pottery Barn steps in.  How fun are these newsprint pumpkins?  Pottery Barn has a fabulous selection of timeless and sophisticated holiday decorations.

Pinterest: Living Rooms

I love looking at beautifully decorated rooms on Pinterest.  It is one of my favorite things to do online.  Even though I don't have a house of my own to decorate yet, I love getting ideas and pinning my favorites!

I love the color combo in this room and the ottoman!

iKat... one of my favorite trends in interior design and fashion!

I love the colors and patterns in this room.  Oh, and notice the picture of the elephant on the wall... fabulous! The white chair is a little modern for my taste, but this room is just so fun, don't you think?

For the Home :: Palm Beach Chic

I have a horrible habit of signing up for way too many unnecessary e-mails.  I really should stop, truthfully I don't read them half the time... yet I still sign up for sites like Rue La La and Pottery Barn.  One that I have actually been reading lately is One Kings Lane, the site is filled with great deals for the home.

One Kings Lane is having a sale entitled Palm Beach Chic and I am in love with these lamps and pillows.

I wish I had a house so I could buy them all!

Pinterest: bedrooms

I am in love with Pinterest and have posted about it a few times.  It's a great time-wasting site, but also very useful if you let it... You can find yummy recipes, interior design tips and ideas and a lot of adorable fashion trends.  If you're not on Pinterst, don't join during finals, you seriously won't get any studying done!

One of my recent obsessions on Pinterest is looking at bedroom design ideas.  Here are a few of my favorite.

I love this neutral bedroom.  Isn't it so chic and grown-up?  Perfect for a life post-college or a guest room.

My bedroom at home is green and blue, so naturally I am in love with this turquoise and white look.  This is a youthful yet sophisticated look for a bedroom.

How could you not love this room if you're were a kid?  This is so adorable and super fun!

I love the high ceilings and chandeliers in this bedroom.  Wouldn't you just love waking up to a room this beautiful?

ready for Easter?

In two weeks it's Easter.  Easter is a great time to go to church with family and friends and reflect on the wonderful sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for all of us.  It's also a great time to spend with your family.  Every year I go to church and then brunch with my family.  This year Easter is early so I will have to drive back to school later that afternoon, but I will still have plenty of time at home.

I love Easter decorations, but sadly they're not as popular as Christmas decorations.  But, they are just as fun!  Swoozies and Pottery Barn both have great Easter decorations this year.

What are your Easter traditions?

Back to School : Dorm & Apartment Decor

I love decorating.  It was so much fun when I went to college and I was able to buy all new things for my room.  My bedspread came from Anthropologie and everything else came from Target and Pier One.  If you're living in a dorm it is best to coordinate with your roommate to make your dorm as cute as possible.  It is fun to get matching bedspreads or maybe the same bedspread in two colors.  You want to show your individual style while coordinating with your new roomie to make your dorm as cute as possible.

PB Teen has a great dorm collection

When decorating your dorm it is important to remember that your space needs to be both functional and cute.  Your dorm will serve as your bedroom, kitchen, living room, and study area so it's important to make your space conducive to all of these things.  You want to have space for your clothes, toiletries, and cookware.  Your dorm will likely come with furniture, but it is important to coordinate with your roommate on things like a TV or refrigerator.

If you're living in an apartment you may have to buy furniture.  There are a lot of great places to find cute furniture for an affordable price.  Target and Ikea both have cheap and cute furniture options, however both of these places require you to assemble the furniture.  Places like Rooms to Go and American Signature also have great selections for reasonable prices.  It is also a lot of fun to go to consignment shops and used hotel furniture stores to find unique furniture at a great price.  If you are living with a roommate it is important to discuss what each person will be responsible for and then try to coordinate the furniture and decor to your liking.  My first apartment was furnished so if you're lucky enough to have a furnished apartment then all you have to worry about is making it feel like home.  Pier 1 is a great place to find rugs, lamps, decorations, and wall art to make your new place all your own.

Featured are two lamps from Pier 1.

Lilly Pulitzer also has a great collection of bedding for an apartment or dorm.

You can match your bedroom and bathroom with these cute Lilly shower-curtains.

Good luck decorating your new home!
