Statement Necklaces

Recently I have been trying to break out my shell.  I am normally a very conservative dresser.  I don't jump on every trend that pops up.  I don't experiment with a lot of patterns.  I don't wear a lot of big jewelry.  However, I am a recent college graduate and I feel now's as good a time as any to start breaking out.  I have started by adding more jewelry to my normal everyday look.  I wear a lot of solid colors, so adding a fun necklace or a stack of bracelets makes my outfit pop.

How do you add an extra pop to your outfit?

Review: My Memories Suite

Recently, I was contacted by My Memories to host a giveaway and review their software.  I love scrapbooking and making digital photobooks, so this software is right up my alley.

The software downloads straight to your computer.  This means you can start putting together your photo books right away!  The software comes with free embellishments and backgrounds.  But, if you decide you want even more options there are tons to choose from on their website.  The software is pretty simple once you get the hang of it, but I also found a bunch of helpful YouTube videos.

I started to put together a book of some of my graduation pictures.

It is so simple to drag your images into the layout and add cute backgrounds.

Check out this awesome product and enter for a chance to win the software!

Local Living: Lakeland Pigfest

I'm starting a new series on here, Local Living!  This series will focus on local events, restaurants, boutiques and as the name suggests, all things local.

The first post is all about Pigfest.

Pigfest is a two-day barbecue competition.  The event is part of the Kansas City Barbecue Society and brings together both professional and amateur barbecuers.  The competition is put on by the Pigfest board with volunteers from the Junior League of Greater Lakeland.  The proceeds from the annual event are split between the Junior League and Girls, Inc .  The mission of Pigfest is to raise money for local charitable organizations and create an event that all people will enjoy.  To date, Pigfest has donated nearly $500,000 to local charities.

Event Details:

Friday January 25 from 6-11 p.m.
Saturday January 26 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: Tiger Town in Lakeland, Florida

If you're in the Central Florida area come out to this fantastic event!
