Food Truck Rally in Munn Park

Once a month the Tampa Bay Food Trucks come to Downtown Lakeland.  If you live in a big city, you are probably very familiar with food trucks (or if you are a fan of The Great Food Truck Race on Food Network ).  If you're not aware of food truck rallies... a bunch of food trucks gather in one area and people gather around to eat from whichever truck they choose.  This month I went with a few of my friends to the Rally in Downtown Lakeland.  It was tons of fun!  We walked around viewing each of the trucks and seeing what they had to offer.  After much debate we ended up eating Mexican food... lots of yummy tacos and quesadillas!

I had to snap a photo of the adorable Yum Yum Cupcake Truck.

Have you been to a Food Truck Rally?

Saturday Morning Farmer's Market

I love the Downtown Lakeland Farmer's Curb Market.  Every Saturday morning two blocks of downtown Lakeland are filled with venders selling anything from fresh veggies to yummy fresh beignets and coffee!  It is so much fun to throw on a pair of J.Crew chinos and Sperrys and head downtown on a Saturday morning.

How fabulous do these beignets look? They were so yummy! The Poor Porker is my favorite part of the Downtown Farmer's Curb Market.

Isn't the Poor Porker's cart so cute! Adorable!

Hope you are having an amazing Saturday!

Local Living: Lakeland Pigfest

I'm starting a new series on here, Local Living!  This series will focus on local events, restaurants, boutiques and as the name suggests, all things local.

The first post is all about Pigfest.

Pigfest is a two-day barbecue competition.  The event is part of the Kansas City Barbecue Society and brings together both professional and amateur barbecuers.  The competition is put on by the Pigfest board with volunteers from the Junior League of Greater Lakeland.  The proceeds from the annual event are split between the Junior League and Girls, Inc .  The mission of Pigfest is to raise money for local charitable organizations and create an event that all people will enjoy.  To date, Pigfest has donated nearly $500,000 to local charities.

Event Details:

Friday January 25 from 6-11 p.m.
Saturday January 26 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Location: Tiger Town in Lakeland, Florida

If you're in the Central Florida area come out to this fantastic event!
