Red, White & Blue Looks

Shorts / Tee / Keds

Shorts are the perfect summer item.  Whether it's a day of babysitting or dinner with friends, shorts are an easy go-to item! I love these oxford cotton shorts from J.Crew Factory, I have them in caribbean blue and am hope to get this fabulous red pair soon.

Tank / Skirt / Jack Rogers

You can never go wrong with a classic look like this one.  A solid red skirt with a navy tank and Jack Rogers never goes out of style.  Pair it with a cardigan and you can even wear it to work.

Black & White Stripes

I love stripes.  A good stripe dress is such an easy and put together look for the summer.  I have had this striped dress from J.Crew for a few years and usually pair it with tights and boots during the fall, but it really is perfect year round.  This week I paired it with my favorite white Jack Rogers sandals and a bright skinny belt.  I also added a bright statement necklace to add a pop of summer to tie the look together.

Friday's Fancies : Road Trip

Happy Friday! I have had a crazy week with school starting, so my posts have been a little off schedule, but I'll get back on schedule soon.  Luckily I have found time for my favorite link-up with  {av} from long distance loving.  It's another fun week of Friday's Fancies!

With fall right around the corner I thought I would put together an outfit that is perfect to help you transition from those crazy hot and humid days to the more comfortable and fun fall temps.  I went on a road trip over the summer and I had a blast.  But, anytime you're taking a long car trip make sure to dress comfortably.  I am always cold in the car, so I prefer to wear pants.  But, it's important to remember that you'll be sitting for hours at a time, so don't wear anything that's too tight.

AG Stevie Ankle Color | Bright colored jeans are a perfect way to transition from summer to fall.  Red jeans are perfect for all seasons.  The cropped style of these jeans is just perfect.

Curved Stripes Dolman | Who doesn't love stripes?  They are so fun and stylish.  I could wear stripes everyday.

CeCe Metallic Ballet Flats | I love metallic accessories.  These gold flats from J.Crew are great shoes for late summer and fall.  The gold makes them perfect for day and night and just about any occasion.

New at J.Crew.

A couple of weeks ago J.Crew had a great sale.  I was able to order three new pairs of shorts for an extra 30% off online!  It was very exciting.  This week I stopped into the Brick & Mortar store to check out their new summer arrivals.  And I fell in love!!!! The store was full of some great stripes and fun nautical pieces... two of my favorite summer trends!

 Happy Fourth of July Y'all!  Do you guys love stars and stripes as much as I do?  I love stripes all the time and stars are so fun too!  Plus they are great to wear throughout the summer.

white denim.

Recently I've been wearing white jeans all the time.  They go with just about everything and are great to go from day to night with just a few quick adjustments.  Pair them with a cotton tee for an afternoon movie and change into a silk top for a night out.  Wear them with flats during the day and wedges at night.  It's as easy as that... you can get so much use out of them!

Stripes.  

They are everywhere! I have a few striped shirts in my wardrobe and I get so much use out of them.  They are so cute and comfortable.  J.Crew has a lot of stripes in their collection right now, but I also found some great options at Anthropologie and Lilly Pulitzer.
