Decorating for Thanksgiving

Pottery Barn has some of the greatest decorations.  Target has already started putting out Christmas decor, but need I remind you... we have to celebrate Thanksgiving first!

I love Christmas decorations as much as the next person, but Thanksgiving is just a fun!  All the beautiful fall colors and cute turkeys, why wouldn't you want to decorate your home with all that?

Are you ready for Thanksgiving?

Halloween Decorations

It's almost Halloween, so now is the time to break out those pumpkins and start carving!  I love decorating with pumpkins, witches and ghosts, but I have a hard time finding cute Halloween decorations that don't look too childish.  This is where the always reliable Pottery Barn steps in.  How fun are these newsprint pumpkins?  Pottery Barn has a fabulous selection of timeless and sophisticated holiday decorations.

Do you enjoy decorating for Halloween?

fourth of july fun.

There are so many fun Fourth of July recipes and ways to decorate for the holiday.  Red, White and Blue are always fun colors to cook with and decorate with, don't you think?  Here are a few of my favorites that I've compiled from Pinterest, the Food Network, Pottery Barn and HGTV.

memorial day table.

Do you have big Memorial day weekend plans? If you do, I am super jealous! I will be heading home for the weekend, but nothing big and exciting planned.

Whether you're just grilling in the back yard, barbequing at the beach or throwing a big extravaganza, it's always fun to have great party accessories.

Start by finding fun plates, cups, napkins or place mats.

These fish plates from West Elm are great for fish frys or crab boils.

These fun luau plates from Pottery Barn are great for a Hawaiian themed extravaganza!

I love these fun summery plates from Anthropologie.

Once you've found fun dinnerware to suit your party, next find some fun drinkware.

I would love to make some lemonade or Sangria in this pitcher.

These glasses are also great fun!

Lastly, find a decorative place mat or tablecloth and napkins.

Now that you've found a festive way to decorate your table, it's time to plan your party or cook-out!  Southern Living, Martha Stewart, Paula Deen and Pinterest are all great sites to find recipes to complete your party plans.

Have a great weekend!

ready for Easter?

In two weeks it's Easter.  Easter is a great time to go to church with family and friends and reflect on the wonderful sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for all of us.  It's also a great time to spend with your family.  Every year I go to church and then brunch with my family.  This year Easter is early so I will have to drive back to school later that afternoon, but I will still have plenty of time at home.

I love Easter decorations, but sadly they're not as popular as Christmas decorations.  But, they are just as fun!  Swoozies and Pottery Barn both have great Easter decorations this year.

What are your Easter traditions?
