Guest Post: Shades of Gray

Hi Southern Royalty readers! My name is Emily and I am the founder and creator of Life with Emily, a life and style blog. Feel free to follow along with me, I'd love to have you!

Gray is slowly becoming one of my favorite transition colors. I love that it is a color that can be paired with darker items, or it can be paired with brighter pastels for spring (which is just around the corner!)

shades of gray

All of these outfits I would 100% wear! I love that even with these items being gray tones they aren't "drab." I used to think any gray item was immediately dull and boring, but my mind has definitely changed within the last year! These gray items look very sophisticated and put together! You can't go wrong!

Do you wear gray?? How would you style your gray pieces?

Guest Post : The Perfectly Preppy OOTD.

Hello Everyone!  It's Rachel again from A Preppy State of Mind!  Again, I'm thrilled to be filling in for Katherine!  I know she's having a fabulous vacation. :)

I get so much joy out of putting together outfits! It is absolutely one of my very favorite things to do.  I'm always on Instagram sharing my OOTD, and I love seeing everyone else's outfit ideas as well. Every now and then, I'll put together an outfit that really inspires me and has me feeling quite pleased with myself.  I, just like any prep, have a weakness for pearls and anything seersucker, monogrammed, or pink.  I achieved this all in one outfit that I like to call "Pinking of Seersucker, Monograms, and Pearls."

I start off with the Lilly Pulitzer Wiley Tube Top in Hotty Pink and the Lilly Pulitzer Mimosa Skirt in Hotty Pink Seer.

I had my monogram put on my Mimosa Skirt.

Next, I add a strand of pearls and these (white and pink) pearl studs.

A pink outfit would not be complete without pink Jack Rogers Navajo Pastel Pink / Fuchsia Trim.

What outfit would be complete without a hair bow? I finished this outfit with my monogrammed hair bow from Doodle Bows.

I just love it when so many things that you love can all be combined together. It's like one huge representation of your happiness.

Thanks again to Katherine for having me as a guest on her blog! :) and remember to visit me with A Preppy State of Mind.

Stay Tuned!

Guest Post : Preppy Bangles.

Hello Everyone! It's Rachel from A Preppy State of Mind, and I'm filling in for Katherine today while she is on vacation! I am brand new to the blogging world but am enjoying it immensely! I am a college student, a lover of everything Lilly, and the mama to a cute shorkie puppy named Jaycee.

I am SO excited to be guest blogging for Katherine! She is so kind to invite me to do this, so a big thanks goes out to her :) Her blog is so cute, and her ideas always inspire me.

Today I want to share some of my very favorite bangles to make a spectacular stack of armcandy! I feel like adding colorful bangles to any outfit will bring the whole look together. It's as easy as 1, 2, 3!

First off is the Knotty Bangle! It comes in so many cute colors and matches so much! I wear the navy almost every day.

Next is the Rachael Cable Bracelet from Swell Caroline! It compliments any stack and adds just enough sparkle!

What could be any cuter than this skinny mini bow bangle by Kate Spade! I am absolutely in love with it! Because it is a little pricey, it's still on my wish list :)

These Sequin Small Crystal Detail Hinged Bangle on Nordtsrom and Sequin-NYC are perfect to add to any stack! I feel like the creme and gold is perfect to compliment any colorful bangle and tone it down at the same time.

Last, but not least, is The ANNA Bracelets on Swell Caroline! How cute is this??

I hope all of these bangles will become part of your armcandy collection or your wish list! One thing I love about all these, except the Kate Spade bow bangle, is that they are all very reasonable! I love finding eye catchy bangles for an eye catchy price!

It has been so much fun sharing my ideas with you! Stop by and visit sometime with A Preppy State of Mind! Thanks again to Katherine!
