Professional Bling

A few weeks ago I stopped by my local Kohl's and picked up the Elle Embellished Ruffle Shirt.  I love how it looks just like this one from J.Crew, but is long sleeve and more than half the price!  Such a bargain, don't you think?  I am a huge fan of button down shirts.  I am always grabbing one out of my closet for work, a night out with friends, or simply hanging out at home and running errands.  Button down shirts are a simple way to look put together without trying too hard, but the embellished collar on this shirt adds an extra layer of dressy and sophisticated bling, while not going too order the top with it. This shirt is the perfect go-to piece that can take you seamlessly from work to happy hour.  I love it tucked in with a skirt or untucked with a pair of ankle pants for work.  For only $25 this Kohl's find is very versatile and stylish.

Note: If you plan on snagging this adorable top, it runs extremely small! I typically wear a zero in button downs from J.Crew or Banana Republic, but had to go up to a 6 in this shirt.  It runs very small in the shoulders and arms, so I highly recommend ordering up a few sizes!

How do you incorporate embellished pieces into your daily style?  Have you tried this embellished top from Kohl's?

Gina Made It

I am thrilled to share with you a new product that I recently had the pleasure of trying out, Gina Made It.  Gina Made It is a collection of handcrafted headbands, pony scarves and bow buns.  I had the pleasure of testing out a headband and a bow bun and I am hooked.

Now that I am a post-grad I am all about wearing cute ponytail holders so that an ordinary pony looks stylish and professional instead of thrown together.  Gina's collection of pony scarves and bow buns are a fabulous way to add a bit of color to your pony and who doesn't love a good bow accessory?  Plus you don't want to look like Matilda with a boring 'ole grosgrain ribbon tide in your hair.  Whether you're wearing them to class or work, Gina's bow buns and pony scarves are a more sophisticated way to wear ribbon in your hair and add a touch of style to your pony.

I have always been a fan of headbands, after all they are an ultimate prep accessory.  Unfortunately, the think ones tend to give me a headache.  So I am always on the look out for cute thin headbands to keep my hair out of my eyes and of course add a touch of style to my hairdo.  Plus now that I have short hair I am all about cute ways to change up my look.  Gina's handcrafted headbands are comfortable and stylish... the perfect combo!  Oh and did I mention you can get them in signature (novelty, grosgrain, or velvet) or leather.

Fuchsia Bun Bow (available online mid-September)

How cute is this fuchsia bun bow?  I love how it makes a dull pony instantly fab!  And they make stellar bracelets too.
