Fun with Photoshop

I finally got Photoshop (and the entire Adobe creative suite) and I am beyond excited to learn the program better.  I have been messing around with it, trying to design logos and fun things with my name (possibly a self branding makeover in the near future or a blog makeover).  I am still learning all the Adobe software and what all they have to offer, but I have made a few things so far just for fun.

Here is the background I made for my iPhone

Here are a few more designs I did for fun, any feedback y'all have is much appreciated!

Name with Silhouette

Monogram

Spots and full name

Feel free to let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions or tips for me!

Top 5 Tuesday: Most Worn Items in My Closet

Today I am linking up with Just Peachy to bring you Top 5 Tuesday.  This weeks topic is most worn items in your closet.

1. Jackie Cardigan | I love cardigans.  I wear them all the time.  Since I live in Florida and it tends to be hot all the time, I love to wear light weight cardigans because I am almost always cold inside.  Plus, I love that these cardis come in just about any color you can imagine.

2. 5" Chinos | Chinos are another staple in my wardrobe.  The 5" chinos from J.Crew are very flattering and I think they are a great length for any body type.  Since it's so hot here I wear these shorts at least a few times a week.  They are perfect for class!

3.  Jack Rogers | These are by far my favorite pair of sandals.  They go with everything from a sundress to a pair of shorts.  They are great for spring and summer and the platinum color is perfect for transitioning into fall.  I wear these sandals way too much!

4.  Longchamp Tote | Medium Longchamp totes are perfect for just about any occasion.  Plus they pack so well, so they are great for travel.  I use mine almost every day.  It is by far my favorite bag.

 5. Pearl Earrings | Pearls are the perfect everyday earring.  They are simple and sophisticated and they go with everything.

What are the most worn items in your closet?

Road Trip {3} : New Orleans

I have been seriously slacking when it comes to my daily blog posts.  But, I hope to get back to my routine soon.  School started and I've been trying to get back into my daily routine, clean and organize my apartment and get all my class stuff ready for the new semester (did I mention it's my last one? EEP! Scary!).  I cannot believe I am so late posting my pictures from my trip to New Orleans a few weeks ago, but at last here they are... I know the anticipation has been building since my last road trip post on August 13th (wow, I'm behind!).  So, without further ado... here are some pictures from our trip to New Orleans, Louisiana.

Strength & Dignity

This is my first post from my brand new MacBook Pro! EEP!  I will get back to my "blogging schedule" soon (I hope), but for today I am leaving y'all with this quick little verse.  Hope you are all having a fantastic weekend and are nowhere near the lingering tropical storm.

Friday's Fancies : Road Trip

Happy Friday! I have had a crazy week with school starting, so my posts have been a little off schedule, but I'll get back on schedule soon.  Luckily I have found time for my favorite link-up with  {av} from long distance loving.  It's another fun week of Friday's Fancies!

With fall right around the corner I thought I would put together an outfit that is perfect to help you transition from those crazy hot and humid days to the more comfortable and fun fall temps.  I went on a road trip over the summer and I had a blast.  But, anytime you're taking a long car trip make sure to dress comfortably.  I am always cold in the car, so I prefer to wear pants.  But, it's important to remember that you'll be sitting for hours at a time, so don't wear anything that's too tight.

AG Stevie Ankle Color | Bright colored jeans are a perfect way to transition from summer to fall.  Red jeans are perfect for all seasons.  The cropped style of these jeans is just perfect.

Curved Stripes Dolman | Who doesn't love stripes?  They are so fun and stylish.  I could wear stripes everyday.

CeCe Metallic Ballet Flats | I love metallic accessories.  These gold flats from J.Crew are great shoes for late summer and fall.  The gold makes them perfect for day and night and just about any occasion.

Do you wear colored jeans?  What would you wear for a road trip?

Pandora One

I cannot study in the library or a coffee shop without listening to music.  Enter Pandora One.  What a great investment!  Listen to Pandora uninterrupted, no annoying ads interrupting your concentration.  Plus there is a desktop app (& iPhone or iPad), how great is that?

Do you use Pandora One? What are your favorite stations for studying?

Royal Fashion Update :: Pre-Olympics Event

Prince Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had a busy few weeks leading up to and during the London Olympics.  The Royal Family kicked off the Olympics with a sports day at Bacon's College, a secondary school in East London the day before the opening ceremonies.

morning coffee

I love drinking hot tea or coffee out of a fun mug.  I think starting the morning out with a yummy drink in a fun mug makes everything better!  I prefer Chai Tea Lattes or "fancy" coffee from Starbucks with flavoring and sugar.  I also drink lots of decaf tea.  Any excuse to use my Kate Spade mugs {mentioned here}!

Do you prefer coffee or tea?  How do you start your mornings?

designer look alikes : accessories

Accessories can add so much to an outfit.  They can make or break the look.  But, they can also make or break your bank account!  Adding a new pair of shoes, new bag or new jewelry can make an old outfit new again.  But, with many trends coming and going over night it is important to think about how much you'll wear an particular piece before you splurge on something that might be out of date tomorrow.

Big statement necklaces are so fun right now, but aren't always the most practical thing to spend all your money on... I love the way this J.Crew statement necklace looks with dressy and casual outfits, but $150 is a little steep!  When I found an awesome look alike from NY & Co. I jumped at the opportunity to buy the $25 version of a necklace I was coveting for a while.

J.Crew Bubble Necklace | New York & Co. Bib Necklace

With graduation and "the real world" right around the corner I have started shopping for professional clothing and accessories.  These J.Crew wedges ($228) are perfect for work, but this $80 pair from LOFT are even better, don't you think?

Don't you just love Michael Kors watches?  I could buy all of them, if it wasn't for the $275 price tag.  Anne Klein has a fabulous collection of watches with a much prettier price tag... $65!
