pigfest.

Over the weekend I went home and went to Pig Fest, a yearly BBQ competition.  It was a blast! Ever since I first went a few years ago, I am obsessed.  People come from all over the country to compete. 

I love pulled pork sandwiches and ribs.  Every year I walk around and try all kinds of food and barbecue sauce.  On Friday night my parents and I were hospitality judges.  We went to four booths and ate some yummy food and looked at some well decorated tents.  Two of our favorites were "Heath & Joe", two local firemen who enjoy cooking BBQ, and "Big Boca Q", a few of our friends who compete every year (so we're a little biased).  After we finished judging they had a VIP party where we ate even more delicious food from Texas Cattle Co., Bone Fish, Publix, and so much more. On Saturday I helped the Junior League and Pig Fest committee count "pig bucks" and distribute them to various stations around Tiger Town.  It was crazy how many people came this year.

Two of my favorite stores are J.Crew and Kate Spade.  Both are so classic.  Even if you spend a lot of money on an item, it is worth it.  These stores are timeless and you always know that you are getting your moneys worth.

I absolutely love orange.  Not just because I go to UF and it's my school color.  It is the perfect color for winter, spring, summer, and fall.  Tory Burch has a great selection of orange items as well as Lilly Pulitzer.

For Christmas I got Wii Fit.  It is helping me keep up my goal of working out more this semester.

It is so fun and I highly recommend it.  It seems like just a game, but it's a lot of work.

Brothers and Sisters Season 1 DVD

Last Christmas I bought this for my mom.  We occasionally watch this after Desperate Housewives on Sundays, but we have never watched it consistently.  I borrowed her DVD and have now watched almost the entire first season over the past week.  I think growing up with a small family, I am jealous of the Walkers and their family dynamic.  
Plus, I love Emily VanCamp who was on one of my favorite shows, Everwood.

 My best friend, Lily, is currently spending Jan. term in Washington, D.C.  I am so jealous.  D.C. is one of my favorite places.  It is so beautiful.

Over the summer I worked on the Congressional campaign of Dennis Ross and he WON!  This past week he took office. :)

back to school.

Spring semester has begun.  It's been a short week with only two classes so far, so it's not too bad yet.  I have not blogged as much as I had hoped to over break, but now that school is back in session I should be back to blogging.
